In this work, I seek to explore the relationship between forgotten food items (such as the rotten and moldy pickles shown) and the act of consumption itself. Why are certain food items ignored? Why are some chosen to be consumed, while others are left to rot (literally) at the back of the pantry or fridge?

Suspended in front of a abstract background (inspired by marbled paper), the pickles instantly draw our attention - and our revulsion.
