VIII: JUSTICE - LEV ABRAMOV

This week's tarot card is Lev Abramov, Sam's father, as Justice!

I chose to represent Justice quite differently from what we usually see (blind woman with the scales in one hand), since Lev is someone who believes in fighting for social change. As a young man in Odessa, he was involved in various left-wing labour movements.

After immigrating to the US, Lev continues to be active on the left. He joins various labour unions to fight for the rights of workers, many of which are other businessmen and independent shopkeepers on the Lower East Side.
